Encompassing a sprawling 347 square kilometers, this sanctuary offers a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, providing effortless sightings of creatures like Indian Bison, Wild Boars, Sambhar, and Peacocks against the backdrop of a dry deciduous forest that attracts a myriad of winged visitors during the winter months.
The endangered four-horned antelope, known as Chousingha, finds refuge within this sanctuary, adding to its ecological significance. Boasting over 40 species of mammals, 234 species of birds, 41 species of reptiles, 12 species of amphibians, 42 species of fishes, 39 species of odonates, and 85 species of butterflies, this sanctuary gained international importance owing to its substantial populations of Leopard, Bison, and Chousingha.
