Keonjhar is at a distance of 235 km from Bhubaneswar. it is the headquarters of the Keonjhar district. it is a beautiful place and Centre of Vaishnavism. Keonjhar District is famous for Maa Tarini Temple, Sanaghagara Waterfall, Badaghagara Waterfall, Khandadhara waterfall and Jagannath Temple. The height of the temple is 140 feet as like as Jagannath temple of Puri. 

Inside the temple Siddha Jagannathan, Siddha Kali and Panchabati. The district is one of the major mineral producing Districts of Odisha. Iron ore, Manganese ore, Chromate, Quartzite, Bauxite, Gold, Pyrophyllite and Lime Stone are the major minerals found in this District. Winter Season is the best time to visit Keonjhar.

The Keonjhar District covers an area of 8303 sq. Km. As per the 2011 census, the total population of the District is 44,11,62 with the total male population as 9,06,486 and female population as 8,95,246.
