Siddheshwar Temple, Naraj, Cuttack, Odisha

Sidheshwar Temple lies on a small hill near Naraj. Cobbled shy, and within distances of Cuttack City in 17 km and Bhubaneswar 25 km. The deity worshipped in this temple is Lord Shiva. Its standard is among the oldest temples in Odisha.

The temple is connected with the mythological happenings, whereby there, amongst the local people, is said that Arjuna had established the Linga and prayed it for success. There is a small cave near the temple where the Pandavas are said to have lived during their exile. There is a Yajna Kund a few stairs above the Shiva temple and the bow of Arjuna is encased in a rock.

The major festival of this temple is Mahashivratri. Devotees from different corners of Odisha visit this temple regularly to worship Lord Siddheshwar Mahadev. Many Kavadias come here during Shravana and pour water on this Shiva Linga.

Naraj and the Munduli barrage from atop the hill can be seen with this calm river bridge making this spot awesome. The sunrise and sunset views from Sidheshwar Temple are quite beautiful. Its Sidheshwar Mandir is one of the popularly visited temples and touristic attractions of Cuttack.
